Poorly differentiated is the aggressive cancer where the cells don't resemble anything anymore... I envision it's like the Tasmanian Devil whirling about in a frenzy inside your body like he did in the Looney Tunes cartoons of my youth.
Moderately differentiated is the middle of the road guy. The cells still resemble somewhat the organ, tissue, bone etc... where the tumor was found. I think of this as the office worker who does just enough work to keep his job but not where he has to take on extra assignments or be nominated for awards or gets promoted. Kind of like this guy:
Then lastly, the well differentiated is the slow growing cancer. These cells resemble mostly its host organ, tissue etc. I think of this type of tumor as the Jimmy Buffett of cancers. You know, "if it's not too nice of a day here on the beach and after I finish this Margarita, I might think about getting around to growing this tumor a little bit but hey, is that music I hear down the street?"
I'm glad I don't have the Tasmanian Devil tumor; I would have preferred Jimmy Buffett but, no, I had to have the Stanley. Well Stanley is going to be fired on August 7 and then his office area will be treated with lots of chemicals for six months to remove any lingering stench he may have left. I would say that I'm sorry to do that to him, but I'd be lying. He brought it all on himself. There will be no verbal warnings just termination.
